Major rebels offensive in east Quneitra foiled by Syrian Army

The takfiri rebels of Jabhat Al-Nusra (Syrian Al-Qaeda group) and Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham launched a powerful offensive in the eastern countryside of the Al-Quneitra Governorate on Wednesday, targeting the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) controlled village of Maqrousah.

AhlulBayt News Agency - The takfiri rebels of Jabhat Al-Nusra (Syrian Al-Qaeda group) and Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham launched a powerful offensive in the eastern countryside of the Al-Quneitra Governorate on Wednesday, targeting the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) controlled village of Maqrousah.

However, the takfiri offensive was doomed from the start, as the Syrian Arab Air Force (SAAF) pounded Jabhat Al-Nusra’s main supply route to the West Ghouta region of rural Damascus.

Following a three hour battle, the Syrian Armed Forces asserted full control over every point around Maqrousah; this resulted in a full retreat for the Jabhat Al-Nusra and Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham.

According to the Syrian Arab Army, the rebels lost an estimated 15 combatants during this failed offensive, along with 3 armored vehicles that were mounted with 23mm anti-aircraft machine guns.
